It is our collective aim to reinvigorate Linnvale by creating a community volunteer group which will support all manner of initiatives to improve the life of our residents.
Linnvale is a well-loved area which has always had fantastic people, great neighbours and is generally well maintained. However, we seriously lack facilities and are more than often overlooked by those that have the power to change things. We totally appreciate that other areas may require more support than us but that should not mean that Linnvale is left to fend for itself.
In the last four years, Linnvale has worryingly dropped over 200 places on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. Urgently and for the future of our children, parents, grandparents and even great grandparents we need to change that downward trend. Hopefully, with your support, we can change the area for the better. All we need is a little bit of your time now and again.
Thus we need to attract more volunteers to help grow our already healthy volunteer group to give this project the best chance of success.
We are looking for people to step in and volunteer on varying levels, but even if the only thing you do is sign up for the neighbourhood watch, provide copies of some of your old photos of the area or simply sign the odd petition or two those little gestures will still be greatly appreciated. This project will benefit the whole of Linnvale and its residents for generations to come and we truly hope you want to join us on this journey.
With everything we do, we will always be mindful and respectful of our residents’ opinions. Everyone will have a voice and we want and need you to use it. If you have concerns over any of our plans we encourage you to talk to us. There is no you and me, just us.
We will eventually do some door to door discussions with those that want to talk to us to gauge opinion and let the residents of Linnvale know that we are always listening. Unfortunately under the current COVID conditions, it may not be appropriate for everyone.
However, we do (via our social media channels and this website) have access to you and your views and support and we actively encourage you to have a browse and maybe sign up for some of our great initiatives including but not limited to paper-free newsletters.
Please browse our website and who knows you might even be inspired to get involved!
