Overview

Although parking in Linnvale is generally acceptable we do have problems in some concentrated areas. We appreciate that since Linnvale was built car ownership has increased dramatically. And we totally understand that every resident needs somewhere to park their car(s) but it should never be at the detriment of others.

Linnvale Primary School

Parking at the school during drop off and pick up times can be extremely busy and often dangerous. It is our intention to work alongside WDC and LPS to provide better arrangements for parents to pick up and drop off safely.

Attlee Place

Another area of concern is the sheer number of vehicles parked on Livingstone St and in front of the larger of the two buildings. The central reservation is being slowly destroyed by cars constantly parking on it, and at times it is difficult and dangerous for other cars to pass. We plan to work alongside CHA and WDC to provide better arrangements for communal parking.

Driveway Creation and Usage

Recently we have seen a new trend of residents creating their own driveways without prior permission from the appropriate authorities. While we appreciate their predicament of the need for off-road parking there is a process that should be followed. We plan to work alongside CHA and WDC to make access to driveway provision easier and straight forward so that none of our residents feel that they are forced to do their own thing. Hopefully, we can even arrange to get some sort of financial assistance for those looking to install a driveway. On that same note, we all know that Linnvale has parking issues yet there is a large number of residents who have a driveway but don’t use it, this is one of the many reasons why we have so many cars parked on our streets. Again we appreciate there may be reasons for that and it is not our intention to pull anyone up for it, but if we really want to change this community for the better then that starts with the little things.
